This gig theatre production, helmed by director Alex Weenink and informed by an open community research initiative, blends original hip-hop and rock compositions—with Funky Monkey providing the soundscape and REA crafting the words—alongside comedic personas and a satirical narrative exploring themes of society, governance, and urban environments. IL-KUNSILL TAT-TRIQ will open with a small-scale presentation at Storeroom on Sunday, August 2nd, then conclude its run at Teatru Salesjan on Sunday, August 9th, with festivities continuing after the show wraps. The ensemble comprises performers Benjamin Abela, Kaylie Magri, Lara Agius, Myles Azzopardi, Lil-Jun, Buzu, Luke Ellul, Mich Mallia, JG, Samwel Mallia, Michaela Pia Camilleri, and Maya Pollacco, alongside additional collaborators yet to be announced.
