Private Tour of Teatru Manoel – Members’ Event

Heritage Malta is hosting a special guided visit for its valued members on Saturday, 12th September 2026, exploring the magnificent Teatru Manoel—Malta's premier theatre located in central Valletta. The tour runs from 10:30am until 11:30am and offers insight into one of Europe's most venerable active theatres, where centuries of musical performances, theatrical productions, and standing ovations have reverberated through ornately decorated galleries. Known locally as "Il-Manoel", this Baroque architectural masterpiece was completed in merely 10 months during 1731 and stands as a remarkable testament to 18th-century European theatre design. Grand Master António Manoel de Vilhena envisioned the theatre as a venue to deliver "honest entertainment for the people", and it has functioned as a prominent cultural venue for nearly 300 years. Co-organised with Grand Tour Malta, the engaging tour will be conducted by artist and accredited guide Jeremy Grech, performing as Monsieur Baroque, whose enthusiastic presentation and extensive knowledge of Malta's cultural heritage enliven the theatre's fascinating narrative.
