Museums By Candlelight: Rabat & Mdina

Wrapping up this year's Museums by Candlelight series, the atmospheric evening takes place on Saturday, 19th September 2026 across the picturesque locations of Rabat and Mdina. Between 7:00 pm and midnight, guests have the opportunity to wander through three landmark destinations – the Domvs Romana, St Paul's Catacombs and the National Museum of Natural History – with admission at just €3 per ticket. Thousands of flickering candles create an enchanting ambiance as live performances and musical acts transform each venue. At the Domvs Romana, visitors gain an exceptional insight into how Roman nobility once lived within their homes. Although substantial portions of the original structure have been lost to time, the stunning mosaic work and substantial collection of excavated items demonstrate its bygone elegance. These invaluable artefacts are housed in Malta's inaugural dedicated archaeological repository, which first welcomed visitors in 1882. The Domvs Romana's musical entertainment showcases harpist Laetitia and violinist Stephen Scerri, who will perform between 8:00 p.m. and 11 p.m.
