Echoes of Light
Under the baton of Quentin Hindley, the MPO curates an enchanting selection blending spiritual depth with refined classical sensibilities. Camille Pépin's Vajrayana launches the evening with shimmering, contemplative soundscapes drawn from Tibetan Buddhist traditions. MPO principal horn Etienne Cutajar and tenor Mark Milhofer collaborate on Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, delivering an ethereal interpretation of evocative verses. Poulenc's Sinfonietta follows with sparkling energy and quintessential French character. The concert concludes movingly with Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin, a memorial work merging Baroque architecture with impressionistic instrumentation.
