Little Shop of Horrors

Teatru Manoel and Masquerade Theatre Company bring to life Little Shop of Horrors, a critically acclaimed darkly comic musical featuring compositions by Alan Menken and words by Howard Ashman. The narrative follows Seymour, an introverted florist toiling away at a struggling establishment located on Skid Row. Everything shifts when he encounters an unusual plant he christens Audrey II – a sinister, sentient creature with an appetite for human blood that grows increasingly menacing. As this carnivorous plant gains strength and makes mounting demands, Seymour finds himself confronted with ever more troubling ethical dilemmas. Marrying comedy with macabre elements and period rock and doo-wop sounds from the 1960s, the musical crafts a wickedly fun exploration of desire and its repercussions. Director: Anthony Bezzina
