Little Shop of Horrors
Teatru Manoel and Masquerade Theatre Company bring to the stage Little Shop of Horrors, the acclaimed musical comedy featuring a score composed by Alan Menken with words penned by Howard Ashman. The production follows Seymour, an introverted and economically challenged florist employed at a dilapidated flower shop situated on Skid Row. When Seymour encounters an unusual plant he christens Audrey II, his circumstances take an unexpected turn—the organism subsists on human blood and evolves into a sinister, articulate being. As Audrey II gains strength and makes ever-greater demands, Seymour finds himself navigating increasingly complex ethical dilemmas. Combining comedic elements with horror themes and 1960s rock and doo-wop sounds, the show delivers a wryly funny exploration of desire and its ramifications. Director: Anthony Bezzina
