KampuSajf 26 - Playgrounds For Emergence
Get Ready For three summer evenings, MCAST's Institute for the Creative Arts Campus in Mosta becomes a vibrant meeting place for contemporary performance, music, theatre, film and visual art. KampuSajf — Playgrounds for Emergence — brings together some of Malta's most exciting artists alongside emerging voices, inviting audiences to move freely between installations, performances and conversations in a relaxed summer setting. Thursday 6 August — Opening Night The festival opens with installations, film and live performance across the gardens and upper areas. Highlights include Kabana by Reuse Collective, FDAL by Julian Micallef, an environmental film screening and discussion by ĊineAmbjent and Friends of the Earth Malta. The night ends with Storm Petrelle, a live music project led by Marie Claire Gatt involving student-created projected visuals. Friday 7 August — Performance Night Friday shifts the focus to movement, theatre and performance. Highlights include a public discussion with Kabana by Reuse collective; Now You See Us, a site-specific movement intervention by Rochelle Gatt and Luke Bugeja Gauci, Il-Kunsill tat-Triq by Chewing Productions and 141 Records, and 5subien.com by Teatru Malta. Saturday 8 August — Closing Night The closing night begins with a workshop by Julian Micallef, followed by music performances by Ella Puci, a debut hip-hop/jazz project Xugaman & DEM, and the Live Mixtape concert by local producers Ġiżimina, That bb and Child. Marsela will wrap up the festival with a DJ set that blends funk, disco, and house. Each night offers a distinct programme, but together they create a festival that is intimate, unexpected and rooted in contemporary artistic practice. Whether you come for one evening or all three, KampuSajf invites you to experience the campus in a completely different way.
