Collection in Focus – Prints
On August 29th, join us for a two-hour public session running from 10am to noon that provides an in-depth examination of selected works from MUŻA's National Collection. This workshop welcomes participants aged 14 and older to discover the multifaceted nature of printmaking through interactive learning. Facilitators will guide you through major printmaking methods including etching, engraving, lithography, and woodcut, demonstrating how artists have employed these approaches throughout history. The program emphasizes printmaking's significance in art history, particularly regarding how it facilitated the spread of information, enabled artistic innovation, and made images more widely available. You'll develop a richer understanding of prints as both technical accomplishments and meaningful artistic works. The workshop involves standing and moving between artworks rather than remaining seated, though seating options are provided upon request. Book your place online or visit any Heritage Malta location to purchase tickets.
