Xlendi Shipwreck Festival

Heritage Malta's Underwater Cultural Heritage Unit, partnering with Munxar Local Council and Malta Airport Foundation, welcomes you to commemorate Xlendi's rich seafaring legacy through a special waterfront gathering. Running across August 21st and 22nd, the Xlendi Shipwreck Festival transforms the picturesque Xlendi waterfront into a hub of discovery, revealing the treasures beneath Gozo's waves. Attendees can immerse themselves in Virtual Reality experiences that transport them underwater to the Xlendi Archaeological Park and the ancient Phoenician vessel, enabling exploration of these submerged wonders from dry land. Additional attractions include exhibits of artifacts salvaged from Xlendi's seabed and a three-dimensional model reconstruction of the Phoenician wreck. The celebration runs nightly from 6 pm through 11 pm along the Xlendi waterfront. Admission is complimentary with no advance booking required.
