Pianist-composer Simon Parkin has created The Blueberg Variations, a creative reimagining of Bach's Goldberg Variations that draws inspiration from jazz, swing, blues, and stride piano traditions. Rather than simply satirizing the original work, this arrangement transforms Bach's sophisticated fugal writing into contemporary rhythmic frameworks, merging the architectural precision of the Baroque with the harmonic sophistication of modern jazz.
