JazzKlabb #12 - MaracuJazz Quartet
The Maracujazz Quartet takes the stage at JazzKlabb, bringing a geographically expansive and rhythmically compelling performance. This ensemble from Colombia weaves together diverse musical traditions—Andean folk melodies, the infectious rhythms of salsa and cumbia, the laid-back sophistication of bossa nova, and the infectious energy of choro—all unified through the improvisational language of jazz. Led by clarinetist and saxophonist Jonathan Lopez, guitarist Juan Oviedo, percussionist Peter Farrugia, and vibraphonist Esteban Amortegui, the four musicians demonstrate remarkable range. The evening promises vibrant sounds, polished execution, and an experience that engages body and soul alike. Intimate seating at cabaret tables accommodates groups of up to four and features complimentary appetizers. At minimum one guest per table must maintain an active Teatru Salesjan membership; members enjoy table pricing at fifty percent off, with the reduction calculated at purchase using your member identification. Standing room and unreserved seating toward the rear of the space are offered free of charge. Not currently signed up as a member? Visit tsmalta.com/members to join today.
