As part of the Student Summer Programme, the Inquisitor's Palace is hosting Sorbet on 22nd August between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Young learners aged 8 and above can join the Taste History team on an engaging exploration of frozen desserts throughout the ages and their underlying scientific principles. Participants will discover the historical methods and creative strategies employed to manufacture ice cream and sorbets during periods before modern cooling technology became available. An engaging hands-on presentation will reveal how salt functioned as a crucial component in achieving lower temperatures and enable children to understand the intricate relationships linking culinary traditions, scientific principles, and historical development. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample newly made frozen delicacies, creating an enjoyable and tasty outing for the entire family.
