(FULLY BOOKED) Sorbet Cookalong

Part of the Student Summer Programme, this activity takes place at the Inquisitor's Palace on 22nd August between 10:00am and 12:00pm and welcomes children aged 8 and upwards to Sorbet. The Taste History team will guide young learners through an engaging exploration of how ice cream and sorbets evolved and the scientific principles behind them, with particular focus on how these frozen delicacies were made in earlier periods before modern cooling methods became available. An engaging hands-on session will demonstrate the clever methods employed by historical food preparers, highlighting how salt was utilized to achieve lower temperatures necessary for freezing. As visitors gain insight into the intersections of culinary arts, science, and heritage, they will have the opportunity to sample freshly made frozen desserts, creating an enjoyable and tasty outing suitable for all family members.
