Crack the Code
As part of the Student Summer Programme, youngsters aged 8 and upwards can join Crack the Code on 14th July between 10:00am and 11:30am. This immersive, interactive experience is set at Fort St Elmo and the National War Museum, transporting participants back to World War II to explore the fascinating world of wartime messaging and code systems. Attendees will engage with hands-on activities centred on Morse code and historical decryption methods, understanding how critical communications travelled across combat zones and oceans while remaining secure from adversaries. Organised into groups, young participants will apply what they've learned by solving encrypted messages of their own, with those who succeed earning a small token reward for their collaborative effort and analytical thinking. Parents and guardians are welcome to actively participate in the activities alongside the children. The cost is €10 per child, which covers one supervising adult. Tickets are available for purchase
