Prehistoric Jewellery
Explore how ancient societies drew upon their surroundings to craft essential items for daily use. Participate in 'Prehistoric Jewellery', an engaging workshop held at Ħaġar Qim on Wednesday, 4th November 2026, between 10:00am and 11:30am, tailored for youngsters between 7 and 10 years old. The experience commences with a guided exploration of Ħaġar Qim, investigating how our ancestors utilised raw materials from nature to fashion garments, construct dwellings, and source sustenance. Through interactive discussions and practical tasks, children will develop their imagination regarding the materials and resources accessible to prehistoric peoples. The programme culminates in a hands-on craft session where participants design and create their own prehistoric-inspired adornment, taking cues from archaeological artefacts discovered locally and the natural scenery surrounding Ħaġar Qim.
