Old Master’s Drawing

As part of the Student Summer Programme, MUŻA hosts a session called Old Master's Drawing on 14th July between 10:00am and 12:00pm, welcoming young people aged 11 and above. The workshop begins with a guided exploration of exceptional drawings normally kept in storage due to preservation concerns, led by a museum curator who shares insights into the composition and craftsmanship of these works. Participants will examine these artworks directly while discovering the classical materials and methods employed by renowned artists throughout history. The second half of the session allows attendees to apply what they have learned by experimenting with traditional drawing techniques and materials themselves, drawing inspiration from the Old Masters. Registration costs €10, with tickets available for purchase either through the online platform or at any Heritage Malta location.
