(Low Availability) Secrets of the Pond

Part of the Student Summer Programme, this experience takes place on 5th September between 9:00am and 10:30am at Għar Dalam Cave and Museum. Children aged 6 and upwards can join Secrets of the Pond, an engaging outdoor activity centred on aquatic habitats. Throughout the session, young participants will investigate the diverse ecosystem of ponds, encountering the frogs, fish, insects, vegetation, and countless other organisms that inhabit these spaces. The programme covers distinctions between naturally formed and man-made pond systems, introduces the variety of fauna and flora present in these environments, and demonstrates how each organism contributes to maintaining the balance within pond ecosystems. By engaging in hands-on exploration and observation, children will develop an enhanced understanding of the small-scale life and remarkable discoveries waiting to be found in ponds. The cost is €10 per child and includes one supervising adult. Advance booking is available online here, or participants may obtain tickets at any Heritage Malta museum or site location.
