From Pattern to Piece

Young people aged 12 and over can participate in From Pattern to Piece, a component of the Student Summer Programme. Taking place on August 11th and 12th between 9:00am and 2:00pm at the Inquisitor's Palace, this intensive workshop allows attendees to learn about the historical evolution and craftsmanship of waistcoats. Participants will work with a museum facilitator and curator to examine pieces from the reserve collection in detail, understanding the techniques and methods used in their construction. The hands-on sessions teach foundational skills including pattern cutting, hand stitching, and machine sewing, culminating in the creation of personal garment pieces. All necessary materials are supplied by Heritage Malta. The cost for attending both days is €35. Reservations are available through the online ticketing system or at Heritage Malta locations.
