Fort Delimara: A Military Heritage Weekend

Guided excursions operate every hour between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, alternating between Maltese and English-language presentations. Built from 1876 to 1884, this fortification served as a critical component of Malta's defence infrastructure and showcases impressive military architecture, an expansive drill yard, and four imposing 38-ton Victorian artillery pieces. Visitors should be aware that the terrain includes uneven surfaces throughout the property, making sturdy footwear essential. The fortress layout presents accessibility difficulties for those using wheelchairs, and certain areas may be uncomfortable for individuals with claustrophobic tendencies.
