European Archaeology Days – Curator’s Tour
Heritage Malta is hosting special curatorial tours at the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June, coinciding with European Archaeology Days celebrations. Located in the picturesque Auberge de Provence building, these guided experiences begin with an overview of the main collection, then delve into the fascinating Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum skulls featured in the permanent galleries. The tour concludes by highlighting exceptional items from the Reserve Collection not typically on display, such as ancient Greek pottery vessels, commemorative inscriptions, and stone stelae. Daily programming offers two sessions: Saturday features a Maltese-language tour from 16:00 to 17:00 and an English-language tour from 17:30 to 18:30, while Sunday reverses the schedule with English from 16:00 to 17:00 and Maltese from 17:30 to 18:30. Admission is €15 for standard visitors and €10 for Heritage Malta members, with reservations available through www.heritagemalta.mt/store and Heritage Malta locations.
