(FULLY BOOKED) Curator’s Tour of the 19th-century Art Galleries – Members’ Event
Heritage Malta cordially welcomes its members to participate in a special guided exploration of British-era Malta's artistic heritage and cultural evolution at MUŻA – The National Community Art Museum in Valletta on Saturday, June 13th. Two separate tours are available: a Maltese-language session running from 10:30am to 11:30am, followed by an English-language session from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. A thirty-minute coffee gathering for all attendees takes place between the two tours from 11:30am to 12:00pm. Visitors will be led through exhibitions spanning the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, beginning with a pivotal moment that reshaped Malta's creative landscape, then progressing through artworks influenced by evolving patronage structures. The tour showcases Neoclassical refinement, Romantic aesthetics, and Realist approaches employed by artists documenting a politically transforming society – maintaining cultural roots while embracing modernity.
