Annual Band Concert – Banda 12th May

This symphonic concert showcases five compositions spanning the 19th and early 20th centuries, plus a debut performance of a new piece by a modern composer. Renowned guitarist Karol Aquilina takes the stage to perform Rodrigo's celebrated Concierto de Aranjuez. The repertoire further highlights the passionate pas de deux from Khachaturian's ballet Spartacus—specifically the Adagio featuring Spartacus and Phrygia—as well as Ravel's most celebrated orchestral work, Boléro. The program concludes with Verdi's rousing overture to the opera Giovanni d'Arco, delivering some of the most thrilling and beloved musical moments.
