Adriaen Willaert – St John’s Passion

A native of what is now Belgium, Adrian Willaert rose to prominence as a Renaissance master in Venice, where he spent much of his career directing music at the Basilica of St Mark's. His compositions and pedagogical contributions left a lasting imprint on sacred music traditions throughout the continent.
